Building knowledge to enhance your comprehension form existing knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint by applying application techniques pre-existing within Microsoft Office. Analysis of structures you will develop to synthesis the new and old information for evaluation by the instructor/facilitator, your peers, and yourself through various feedback methods.

Course Organization

This module is about providing the necessary tools available in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint which may increase your job performance or home social networking skills by applying existing knowledge with new knowledge through structured instructional online procedures using existing social networking tools.

You will begin by surveying online information in order to familiarize you with proper online procedures and the e-learning environment. Followed by step-by-step procedures using technology-based programs and tools while engaging in collaborative efforts among a skilled educator, peers, and yourself.

You will be given an opportunity to evaluate your peers, yourself, and a survey of the course and instructors/facilitators.

Using Microsoft Word Insert dropdown menu, selecting Diagram..., then select a diagram type, note the diagrams identification and the brief description of its usage; You will repeat the above procedure for all six diagram types.

You can complete this same procedure for Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. You should get similar results, if not, add appropriate information.

Using Microsoft Word, you will be inserting and modifying these three types of diagrams; Organizational, Pyramid, and Radial.

Using Microsoft Excel, you will be defining terms, creating a mathematical formula, and building a grade book.

Using Microsoft PowerPoint, you will be designing a presentation using your choice of either a default slide design or one from the Online Office Templates.

You will be evaluated by the instructor and your peers.

You will be asked to evaluate the instructor/facilitator and course material.

Your evaluations will be determined by a rubric for each subject.

You will critique your peers work online using ethical methods through a discussion board.

You will be given a change to evaluate this course and it’s personnel.

Completing Projects

All projects will be constructed through Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and/or PowerPoint using system requirements as outlined in the classroom introduction found at http:// www.netvibes.com/jr66. You will be required to research through blogs and other social networking tools to competently complete each assignment and or project. You may be required to download information, see Online Procedures. Please double check your work prior to emailing or posting. Your evaluation will be returned to you by way of email or a discussion posting from your piers.

Online Procedures

The following guidelines will provide you with instructions on how to use the internet to gather, complete, and download or post your documents to obtain proper credit for each of your assignments/projects.

Gathering information from the internet will be found starting on one of the blogs provided by the instructor, for this course you will start at JR's Blog found at http://www.netvibes.com/jr66. You must read and comprehend all the information found under the following tabs; Classroom Introduction, Online Introduction, Important documents, and First assignment.

Completing assignments/projects are done by  downloading which can be accomplished by either cut/paste to a document or program of your choosing or if a download window option appears, you can select save and a copy will be downloaded to a location of you choice (preferably in My Documents on your system). Once the assignment or project is complete you will attach the document to your email with a brief summary or with any other information you think is pertinent, then send it to the instructors email; jr85stang@juno.com, or you will post your assignment on a blog for peer evaluations when instructed.

If posting is required, you will be instructed where to post the assignment. For most of this course, you will post to the instructors blog found at https://jrw1234.angelfire.com/blog/.

Policies

All discussions will be posted on designated blog as prescribed by the instructor. Respond to at least two piers for each discussion post. All postings will follow appropriate etiquette as outlined under Online Introduction tab on JR's Blog and as noted under Rules section of this manual. All response's content should contain appropriate material pertinent and relevant to the subject.

All assignments will be due on the seventh day from the original post or as instructed otherwise. Turn in assignments as per Online Procedures section of this manual.

Rules

Use common courtesy at all times, no inappropriate language, racial comments, or explicit misuse of internet resources. Follow etiquette as noted in the policies section of this manual. Disciplinary action will be taken which could affect you grade or even dismissal from program with no refund in which case legal action may be required.

You must post at least thee times per week, two for discussion and one for turning in your assignment to get appropriate credit.
